Carpool guide for parents
Organize a school carpool with families you know.
Plan recurring school drop-offs and pickups, invite trusted families and keep driving turns in one place.
Start with the school rules
Check the school’s pickup permissions, car line procedures and dismissal times before making a schedule. Agree directly with each parent on who may transport their child. RideTurns does not obtain school permissions or verify drivers.
Treat pickup and drop-off as separate rides
A parent available in the morning may not be available in the afternoon. Create separate rides with the correct time and destination. In RideTurns, recurring weekdays save you from rebuilding the school run every day.
Agree on seats and driving turns
Ask each driver how many appropriate passenger seats they can offer. Parents remain responsible for lawful restraints and safe transport. Set the ride’s seat limit and book the children who will ride; a seat count is not a safety check.
Prepare for a missed turn
Pick a direct contact method and agree on a backup. A ride marked Needs driver is a prompt to arrange coverage, not a guarantee that another parent will take it. Confirm important changes directly rather than relying only on an app.
Invite your families
Open Pools, choose Invite a family and share the private link directly. Keep it out of public groups: anyone holding a valid invitation can use it to join. You can replace an invitation link from pool options.
Try it with your pool
RideTurns works in your browser. The iPhone and Android store releases are coming soon. AI assistant connections are optional; you do not need an AI account to organize rides.
