Carpool guide for parents
Make a driving schedule everyone can follow.
Plan parent driving turns, recurring rides and backups with RideTurns instead of tracking decisions across messages.
Agree on what a fair turn means
Families may have different schedules or numbers of children. Decide together whether to balance trips, days or availability. RideTurns shows driving coverage; it does not automatically assign or guarantee an equal rotation.
Separate recurring availability from a one-off turn
A parent may offer every Monday or just one date. Use the driving-day choices to express the right commitment and check the end date before confirming a recurring turn.
Book riders as well as drivers
A named driver is only part of the plan. Add the children riding that day and check available seats. The driver and parents must still confirm appropriate restraints and permission to transport each child.
Keep changes visible
If you cannot drive, hand the ride back and tell the other parents promptly. Check the schedule for rides still needing a driver. Agree on a cutoff time for confirming backup transport.
Bring the schedule into your calendar
Use your personal RideTurns calendar feed to see your driving and children’s rides in a calendar app. Keep the feed address private. Calendar providers may refresh slowly, so use RideTurns and direct confirmation for last-minute changes.
Try it with your pool
RideTurns works in your browser. The iPhone and Android store releases are coming soon. AI assistant connections are optional; you do not need an AI account to organize rides.
